A reminder that the 3.4 GHz activity weekend is approaching, June 7/8th. Detail on active stations can be found at http://www.moonbounce.info/3400.htm and also there is a useful article by VE4MA on getting going on 3.4GHz EME.
Joe, K1RQG has agreed to put together a sked list so email him with your requests at k1rqg at aol.com and make sure that you see the Net Notes which is where they will be published. Joe will be away from May 25-June1 and will publish a sked list before the weekend of June7/8 so get your requests in to him asap. If you are new to his sked lists and you have window restrictions then let him know what these are.
Operation last year was between 3400.050 and 3400.010 and the corresponding frequencies 3456.050 and 3456.100 so I suggest that we do the same this year. If we have a lot of participants then lets expand to 3400.150 and 3456.150
It would also be useful to post details of your planned operation on the reflectors, don't forget to say where you will be operating , for example, Tx 3400 Rx 3400 and 3456.
Remember that the object of these weekends is to test out the gear, contact as many people as you can, help newcomers to get going on the band, try different components, maybe do a few measurements, and to have fun. May I encourage you to keep good records of what you hear and work and also of any measurements , e.g. sun and moon noise, polarisation, fading patterns, etc. We still have a lot to learn about how to make good eme systems on this band.
