Lots of activity again on 3.4 GHz and after I worked Z3/OK1DFC on 23cm I spent some time ensuring the feed was accurately pointing at the centre of the dish and also optimised position. Earlier this week I also made some minor profile corrections. I think this all added another 0.75 to 1.0dB to the dish gain. As a result I worked, on sked,GM4ISM #14 who came up to M copy and on random DL4MEA, PA0BAT , WD5AGO #15 and VE6TA. F2TU reported my ssb as R3S3. I heard and called VE4MA and G3LQR and was heard by both stations. Speading seemed to be worst at transit but was very evident on VK3NX's signal but not on my echoes or OK1KIR's signals at the same time.
So a total of 12 stations worked, 3 initials and several QSOs with small dish stations, 2.7,2.4m. I think I can get another 1.5-2dB of power but I have a feeling that the dish is pretty close to optimised now.
Thanks to everyone who took part, and for the great QSOs. It was a pleasure to organise it and finally one request .... Please send me your most recent sun noise measurement and either the sun flux at that time OR the date when it was made and your dish size. I need the data for a paper for the eme conference.
