Oh, this is sad news again. I am deeply hit by this information.
We met regularly throughout the years. Rainer came several times to Kiel 
checking his preamplifier developments on my companys Noise Figure Meter and 
calibrating his PANFI. We worked EME on 432 MHz on several occasions too.
Last time I met him when our ways by luck crossed in a train through Germany. 
I remember warmly this discussion we had over the next hours.

His passing is a great loss for the EME community and more.
My condolences go to his family.
