I remember Rainer since he published his antenna systems in DUBUS in
1990. We were preparing for our first expedition in KN42AA from the club
LZ1V. We made a telephone call to Germany to ask several questions. The
ptoblem was tat due to shortage of materials we made our boom from what
we had in hand as tube diameter. Rainer was kind enough to calculate ANT
dimentions according our non standart tapered boom. We made two such
antennaes. They both had SWR 1:1.1 at first start. I still keep one of
the antenaes. We used it for the last time in 2005 during our second
expedition there. It is 15 el on 8.40m boom.
