[Moon-net] WSJT and Ubuntu

Apologies for the bandwidth because I think this topic has been covered before-but-

I have a small "Alienware" laptop which was given to my by the previous owner who declared it hopeless.  It would not hold Windows XP for any length of time before crashing, even with a new hard drive.

A good friend, K3JYD, suggested installing Linux-Ubuntu 8.04.  That done-and the laptop not crashing any more, he downloaded WSJT  It refuses to stay opened after the first second or two.

Wonder if there is yet a fix for this-or if anyone in the Washington, D.C., northern Virginia area might have some experience with this-I'd be delighted to bring the laptop over.
