Ken,

In my college days, I used to coat 24GHz horns and waveguides
with clear lacquer. My prof. said it is low loss and has no effect.

Polystyrene is one of the lowest loss material
in RF and microwave frequencies,
equal or better than teflon.

At least, when the coating is thin, the change should be small.
