Ok I seems the list is back in operation. My test came back to me with-in 3
minutes of being submitted to the list address. I'm sorry for the delays
with getting the list back online after the move.

The old server was getting outdated and was on it's last legs. It had
several drives go out within a few months and was getting to be unreliable.
My choices were to do a full clean of the drives and reinstall or just get a
fancy new up-to-date server. I chose the new server option. More money but
it seems to be the best bet. But one of the 58 accounts would NOT move to
the server. It happened to be the account that holds the LISTS. So it took
manual moves and lots of work to get things back in swing. After today I
think we have most of the bugs worked out and all should be back in order.
As they restarted MAILMAN, the list software, I received 30 or so emails
that seemed to be hung. Posts to the list were getting to the server, but
were not going OUT, like a black hole. I guess the techs unplugged the hole
and all is well now I hope..

I'll be tweaking the new server as the week goes but you should not see any
more issues for awhile as I hope to not have to update to new hardware
anytime soon. Just way to much hassle. PLEASE DO NOT SEND TEST MESSAGES

Let me repeat, PLEASE DO NOT TEST THE SERVER. Each test message generates
over 4000 emails, and fills the mail spool again. This causes the posts to
be delayed even more as it sorts the posts and places the last posts in back
and the new post in front. All your doing is causes a slow return on the
post to the server. If you must test, post a real message and give it time
to sort through and email out. The server is able to send over 1000 emails
per minute, if it's a longer delay its YOUR ISP delaying the mail. I have
PAGES and reports I see every night after maintance runs that show messages
being rejected by overseas mail servers telling the server to try again,
This places the message on a 4 hour waiting list before retying.

With that, I hope all works again and we can get back to a calm list. Let me
or the list admin know if you have any issues and we'll see what we can do
asap.
