The sad news of Charlie's passing really struck me. I had the great
privilege to get to know Charlie for the first time when I was his guest at
the Paradise Valley shack in 2002.

 

While visiting him for the second time in 2006, I was simply fascinated with
Charlie's enthusiasm as he talked about his 24 GHz projects and as he showed
me his homebrew EME antennas and equipment. On top of all this, Charlie
really impressed me how he dealt at his age with computer high-tech. 

 

I was lucky to meet this wonderful man in person. The impressions of him are
etched in my mind. Thank you, Charlie. You were for me the
W7-Great-Big-Indian and you'll remain the Great-Big-Charlie.
