Hi all
I'm new on this list, and I'm also new to EME.
In fact, I haven't done a QSO yet via the moon,
so I'm sure many will question who am I to
comment EME operators behaviour/pratice.
However, as a radio amateur and a human,
I found comments like this:
> While others where playing with "laptops"
> i made the following 2 way SSB QSO's:
very unpleasant (to avoid saying rude).
One thing I've learned about ham radio is
there is plenty of room, I mean band, for
everybody do her/his favorit mode, without
anoying each, specialy due others preferences.
So why keep on picking your fellow amateur?
Did you ever thought that many (most?) of
radioamateurs don't have a 100 sqm backyard
to put a 5m dish? Or even they have, they can't
afford it/don't have knowledge, etc. Or simply
I could be deaf, and the only way I could do a
QSO via the moon, is using a computer?
Did you work RTTY before? Did you use your
fingers and a typewriter? Did you built your radio
from scrach (like ham radio pioneers)?
If you thing you are better than others, just because
you do can do a CW/SSB QSO via the Moon,
good for you. Maybe next time you do one of those
QSO's, you will think about those who can't work
you, simply because they can't, not because they
are less capable.
No, I don't want to start (another) endless debate
about old issues. But I would apreciate very much
if people grow up, mind their own business (mode),
and stop picking on others. I, for one, found it very
anoying, unpolite, and frustating.
Last but not least, this email is *not* adressed to
ON4BCB, but to everybody who pick on others
just because they can.
