Another EME veteran gone and sure one of the beacons to us
early "youngsters"to EME. I worked him back in 1979 on 432 for the first 
time and we met at the first Thorn meeting and also at several of the
succeeding EME conferences. Many qso on 1296 but unfortunately none on 2.3 . 
He had such a big signal from his klystron amplifier and my solo 2C39 though 
run at 250 mA was not enough.
I was lucky, after the Washington/Bowie EME conference 1996 to visited him 
and Veda and their daughter Tracy for a few days. A most memorable  visit.
Great hospitality.
We exchanged Xmas-cards through the years and the last one
for the 2007 season Charlie wrote he had hope with some help to get his dish 
organized  as he had not given up on
getting back on EME. 90 year of age!!
Sure he will be missed !! CUL
