I would be very much interested to have a few *.WAV files that exhibit 
the behavior you are talking about.  It might be possible to determine 
what the "something" is, that the tree does to your received signal -- 
and to program the decoder to compensate.

If you can tell me what the undecoded message for each file was supposed 
to be, so much the better.
