Hello All - If you can send text, pictures, attachments, videos etc
by e-mail & if you can join the army, buy a car, apply for citizenship
& even get married online why in the world can`t a simple thing such
as confirmation of an amateur radio contact be achieved by the same
means?
Is this method not recognised when applying for say an award & if
not why not? Could authenticity be an issue?
Decades ago some hams used QSL cards to wallpaper the shack
& perhaps this is still popular.
I believe its overdue for the "system" to adopt electronic QSL`ing
for those that want to do it at all or in some situation where proof
is mandatory & probably there is software already available for the
job.
>From Australia it costs almost $2 to send a card & in the majority
of other countries except US mail its also fairly expensive which in
itself is not a big deal but nevertheless is time consuming, extremely
old fashioned & completely unnecessary.
Myself I am happy enough just for the contact to be in a log with
nothing else required. If it didn`t happen then its not recorded.
Regards & 73`s, Trevor, VK4AFL.
