Hi all,
The ARRL have explained why my 432 log was not included, and rectified
the situation. Basically a problem on my part for not fully
understanding the categories, and the fact I can only enter one! Thanks
Sean!
All this CW/WSJT/digital/analog/assisted blah blah doesn't alter the
fact that all EME'ers still have to put up significant aluminium,
decent preamps, power, etc to be able to see/hear anything! (Obviously
the requirements for JT65 are less stringent, but if you want to work
more than a few big stations (on any mode) you need to up the ante).
That to me is the achievement, what you do with the demodulated signal
is almost an anti climax.
As for the ARRL test (or any other ), I have no chance of top scoring,
but I will send in a log just to support that contest. Hopefully there
will be a category for 'digital' assisted.
I never use the Internet during a QSO, and as others have already
pointed out, operator skill and integrity are the order of the day when
it comes to DS decodes.
And finally, maybe what we need is another category, cross mode
CW/JT65??
Posted in the interests of not taking it all too serious!
