Thanks, Bernd, for the pictures/link.
Looking at the ET3AA setup, his signal will likely be less than 2 dB
below what I have been running: 125w at tower-top to 4x-2m-xpol-20
(3WL-10 element yagis). They probably have shaved off some of the
phasing line loss that I have (est. 0.4 dB from T/R relay to a given
driven element). So that might give a reference point for expected
signal from them. I probably can hear them, but it may be hard for
them to hear me.
I have been off the Moon for a few months to concentrate building my
8877 amplifier. Hitting a few snags with the bias/control/metering
panel. Parts ordered. But definitely making progress. I have
applied 3000v to the control panel with success (no arc or
sparks). Control logic may have a couple bugs which I am working
on. The RF assembly should progress fairly well. Then the aging of
my tube(s) and tuning/testing can start. Crossed fingers that my 2
used tubes test OK ;-)
Shooting for QRV in May with 600w + ....HVPS that enables 1500w will
be reconditioned, later.
GL to ET3AA!
PS: I will be QRV for a couple hours April 15 for sked with K5QE
