A Recent show on PBS TV called "Seeing in the Dark", by Tim Ferris
May have some interesting Follow Up information if someone inquires.
Featured in the show, were a team who quickly built internet
remote control interfaces to remotely mounted telescopes.
They mentioned in the show that it was relatively easy and simple
to implement.  It might be worthwhile to contact Mr Ferris
who is on the web for details of their remote control
implementation.
