[Moon-net] actuator read out

Hello Erwin and others,

I once used such but this is not that easy. The actuator's pulses are related to the length of the shaft, and so you have to convert that to elevation by some kind of formulas, mostly cosine law, and also considering other constraints of your mount. I guess it is too complicated for public software to take all that into consideration.

As far as I know, most of those using actuators simply use an independant way of measuring the elevation, for example digital levels, inclinometers or potentiometers with a weight or whatever. There are plenty of possibilities.

There are smart ideas to use an actuator with linear drive...

Hi all,

a friend of me is planing to setup a EME rig. He will use a actuator for
elevation.

I was searching Ham sites and internet but I didn't find any homemade
controller for a actuator.

Does anybody can provide a link for a elevation control ?
