Hi - It appears that the significance of sending "Y s" has been forgotten!
In response to CQ calls I am fairly sure the same station called me
at 0225z, 0234z, 0249z, 0255z & 0259z but treated it like 20m with
just a couple of his own calls & the same number of my own.
If someone is sending QRZ QRZ Y Y Y Y Y that means he has not
got your call & would like you please to send your call several times
with gaps between letters & larger gaps between complete callsigns!!
If he continues to send Y`s then repeat your call for an even longer
period as it should be obvious that he is having problems. If something
clearly is not working then try something else! I can recognise my own
call under virtually any situation so there is no point in concentrating on
that.
Finally I sent Ys for 30 secs but it made not the slightest difference
which by this time had wasted over 35 mins of valuable window time.
Suggestion: At the next conference someone run a cw SENDING
workshop!
73`s, VK4AFL.
