Just back from a 6 week trip to VK8 and VK6 I am extremely sad to learn that
Josep passed away!

 

Our first QSO was in 1985 on CW MS and in October 1986 we had our first 144
EME QSO, Josep was portable in JN01VS! I first met him in 1988 when he
attended the first 144 EME meeting in HB9. Since then we were continuously
in contact. We have worked on 144 62 times and on 432  24 times throughout
the years.

 

Josep had always a great signal with his 2 yagi setups. And he had an
exceptional RX as well! I am very happy for him, that he accomplished 144
DXCC and WAS, which confirmed in a great way his outstanding knowledge,
experience and effort. He was a great VHF and UHF DXer! Josep was also a
great person and friend! He was available to help in any way he could at any
time!

The EME-community lost one of his outstanding operators and a great person
and friend!

 

I would like to pass my condolences to Marie, Pau and all of his family!

 

Dear Josep, thank you very much for your friendship and the many QSOs we
had! I will miss you very much! Rest in peace my friend!
