Standard amateur radio callsigns consist of a one- or
two-character prefix, at least one of which must be a
letter, followed by a digit and a suffix of one to three
letters. The character group 3XT1 violates this convention
and is therefore handled within JT65 as plain text.

The link you provided has all the necessary information. No
special settings are required; you need only to understand
that any message containing the group 3XT1 will be
transmitted as plain text. In the JT65 protocol, plain text
messages are limited to 13 characters. This is enough for
3XT1 and any standard callsign, but not enough to include
also a Maidenhead grid locator.
