Hi all,
First, I want to say ¡thanks! to everybody here on the reflector that help
me with his answer and advices, them was very helpful for my 23 cm
project.
Story is very short: Rotators, RX setup worked fine and precise, but, as I afraid
the "Achiles heel" of the station: the PA, failed and went me out of the contest.
When I let it in his place first tests show me solid 250W, but, yesterday mornig
with the "remote" TX setup ready, PA start to work unstable and power change
from 250 to 100W (as plate current was OK) it seemed to be any kind of bad
contact on the cavity or output piston, also self oscillating and bias supply went QRT.
I still haven´t power meter on the shack, then I discovered it late on the afternoon
after lot of call at many stations with no answer nor QRZ.
BUt with 80 to 100W on the focus I could work: HB9Q 539/529 First QSO for EA2LU
on this band and OZ4MM 529/449 (both still with little tree blockade) congrats both for
his good RX system! Heard: OK1CA, LX1DB, IZ1BPN, HB9SV, DL4MEA, HB9BBD,
ZS6AXT, OK1KIR, OH2BG, SM3AKW, W2UHI, VE6TA, ES5PC, DK0ZAB, K5JL,
K4QI, K2UYH, K5SO, PA3CSG.
Like 144mhz, when the moon start to down and NA window start signal were more and
more strong K5JL/K5SO the louder for me.
To sum up, altough "Murphy" was there I enjoyed the radio since long time I didn´t it.
Now, I have to fixed the PA throuble, and perhaps put a new RX preamp......
Again, thanks and see you on the moon.
73
