My suggestion would be to run the rated heater voltage for
one week (7 days). Do this with the tube laying on the bench
(you are trying to "burn up" all of the oxygen in the tube).
You should also be cooling the tube with a "muffin fan" or
something similar. You should be able to "touch" the tube
without burning yourself.
