Hi all,
I have nearly finished the work on my small (trans)portable 6cm EME system, and hope to be QRV for a limited time on Saturday.
Because of obstructions, my main 2.4m dish cannot see a common window with JA, and so I have set up my tripod mounted 1.8m dish (as used on 3cm EME years ago0
The dish is up and feed is on, though I cannot remember what the convention is for EU with regard to linear polarisation.. I think I should be Vertical?
The transverter is running, and seems ok, the power amp has been run up without drive.. the 10V line draws the normal 62A standing current. A bit of work still to do to get the system fully operational, but on target so far.
I expect to have about 35W at the feed and a 1dB nf.
This should be more than adequate for 8N1EME, but may suffice for larger 'normal' stations.
I have a very limited window, and cannot move the dish, so I am sorry, but most of North America is not possible this weekend.
Any big stations likely to be around from EU? My window is from 11:00 to about 15:30Z, I will be on the 8N1 chat page and probably KST as well.
Looking forward to making my first ever QSO on 6cm a good one!
Further operation on 6cm is likely to be on the 2.4m dish, and I hope with circular polarisation. With luck this will be later this year.
Regards
