I have measured noise figures on some Icom boxes.
The 736 was best with 4 dB. The 756 series 6-8 dB and the 706mk2g 8 dB.
The switching diodes on the front end and general purpose designed antenna switching
are cause of this NF. Some said you don't need better NF on 6M. But please bare in mind
that there are quite some low noise areas that can be heard and seen using a good preamp.
