Some quick info from FR.
We had last week-end and this week a cyclone warning (Gamede - 940Hpa) which
made bad things on the island. 2 people died and abt 100 were injured...
Home did not suffer as we were somewhat protected by the mountains.
Very bad things on the roads, and I will have much troubles to go for work now.
One of the main bridge on the south coast has been destroyed, the one i used
everyday. Was 50000 cars/day on that one...
I had to secure antennas and dismantle the whole array. Hope to get ready for
the March contest...I will miss 8N1EME i'm afraid.
Winds were up to 205km/h on the north cost hills, and the cyclone did not get
closer to 240 km from the island coasts !
If it was closer or directly on the island i can easily imagin in what situation
we would be...
Some area still don't have water and electricity, for 6 days now...
We did participate to the emergency organisation with some hams around. Some
parts of the island did not have communication.
Here, in Avirons, we were somewhat lucky...
