Hello all,
the question was asked recently:
>Recently, I've been asked if I have a design for combining two
>Toshiba amps. I have not done this yet but would wonder if anyone
>out there has and can offer help/guidance in this?

This is precisely what I have done. I used "wilkinson Splitter" on the input and 1/4 wL Stripline on the output. I etched the artwork on "UltraLam 2000"....and found negligible loss.
The Toshiba amps have circulators on the output so they are very well protected!........and why a 1/4 wL 35.5 ohm transformer section is an EASY solution.
The inputs do not have circulators so that is why I used "Wilkinson" stripline splitter.
My Toshiba Amps produce 55 W+ each and I get <0.05dB loss in the combiner....... Total output 110W.
The amps are for 3456 but work just as well on 3400. The board does not get hot and after a full 2 hrs of EME 2 1/2 min seq. no sign of heat damage....Ultralam is very low loss at 3400
(Because the combiner worked so well, and because the amps are VSWR protected 'm actually considering paralleling 4!)
If any one wants a copy I can email them the artwork (with a scale)........but it is for Ultralam 2000 only!
Regards
Charlie
