Hi,

I am slowly getting back to senseful EME...

First, I removed my multi-feed setup and now I have a quick-change-mechanism, which even allows exchanging of a feed while carrying my 5 month old son on the left arm. He is definitly heavier than the feed, hi...

On 23cm, I now read 10dB sun noise and even SSB echos, so really fine. Reason here was a totally malefunctioning preamp, whereas I want to raise three questions: "Are DJ9BV designs really reproduceable" and "Is designing a preamp a kind of a witchcraft?" and "How can an ugly preamp in a rusty box be 0.5dB-NF while a nice one in a milled case is at 1.2dB-NF, after exchanging the air wire against a 2-turn-loop, it became 0.5dB-NF"

On 13cm, I have got the previous 11db sun noise back, reason here was a failing male-male connector in the short cable from feed to transverter.

And on 3.4GHz, I am getting around 8dB sun noise from a cheap C-Band LNB that I bought in an auction for just €20. So, I want to try to listen to you and probably the one or other can really get through.

For the next weekend, I will be on 70cm. Yet I do not have a feed, but its an easy square tube adapter that I need.

73, Günter, DL4MEA
