Hugh,

In the KB7Q modified version of the W6PO amp I found that the
following worked:

  L1=6T 10mmdia 16mm long (airspaced no core)
  and L2=3T 15mm dia 16mm long.

It improves VSWR= 1.2:1

L1 is input coil and L2 the coil to the cathode.

Make sure your capacitor rotor is grounded OK
