Hello friends,

after repairing my 13cm PA (I simply replaced the piece of PCB which arced-trough by two parallel pieces of 50Ohm semi rigid), and retuning it, I put it back to the box behind the dish. And after having spent much work for CS/Sun measurements after I had expanded my dish to 4.5m diameter, it was not a big surprise that the echos became much better. But how much was just recognized when I was able to read even my SSB echos nicely without filtering. Thats really great.

Unfortunatly the activity was on 23cm this weekend. I had already said that I was missing a CF300. Well, searching through all the stuff laying around, I actually found one and swapped it to my 23cm transverter. But this was not all, there was nothing received. Analayzing the problem outside during a light snowstorm showed me that the 2nd stage preamp was broken. I removed this and checked the moon

I immediatly heared in SSB ON7UN 42, K9SLQ 52, DL0SHF 53 and LA8LF 42.

While repairing and optimizing the 2nd stage preamp to the ATF35076 optimum NF parameters, at 0130 local time, my wife came into the shack and asked for a lift to the hospital. Well, the reason is male, his name is Stefan and was born on 27.01.2007 at 12:15.

Today in a short break and while waiting for the rest of the family to arrive, I re-installed the 2nd stage outside and in the short time that I had to listen to the moon there were nice signals of

K5JL 57 and again K9SLQ 57

TX on 23cm will follow soon. If somebody likes to run 13cm, let me know.

Parameters:
Dish: 4.5m f/D=0.33
13cm: Super-VE4MA, HEMT-Preamp, DB6NT-Transverter, 2*MRF21120 driven by a single MRF21120, 10dB CS/Sun (too less)
23cm: Diagonal Waveguide feed, Cavety-Preamp, ATF35076, 30m RG213, DD9DU transverter (no tx yet)
