I bought two of these about six months ago with measuring my eme elevation
angle in mind. I successfully unsoldered the digital display board from
the main unit and removed the plastic back to rewire for external power and
eliminate the 9-volt battery.
It works fine for about a 30-foot run of wire but fails to properly
indicate over longer runs. My need was for 170-feet. I took it down
before raising my 2m-eme array back to tower top. I wonder if there was
some other problem or the four wire data run had some limitations on cable
run? When used together they work fine even down to subzero wx (Alaska).
