Just like you, I ended up having to cut the shorting bar off. Sometimes it
is the only way.

Subject: [Moon-net] freeing up allen-head screws on M2 432-9WL

I just bought a second-hand M2 432-9WL yagi to upgrade my mobile 432
system (yes-at 21 feet long it is a monster but it actually fits on top
of the rover!)

An allen-head set screw on one of the driven element's shorting bars
seems to be frozen in place, not allowing me to adjust the shorting bar
to tune the antenna properly. I tried spraying with WD-30, but nothing
changed-the allen-head wrench became twisted out of shape as I tried
harder and harder.

Is there a way to unfreeze the set-screw, or does one just have to saw
off the shortling bar and start over again with a new piece?

Thanks for your suggestions.

73,

Martin, KC3RE
