[Moon-net] 10 gHz Equipment question

Folks:

Now that I have become interesed in Microwaves, I pulled out some old 
Distance Measuring equipment.  They are Fairchild MC-8 boxes, 30 milliwatts  
(I think)  tripod mount with about 12" parabolic reflectors. 12, 24VDC or 
110 vac power.
Originally Distance meters, similar to Tellurometer designs.  Both units 
were mounted on the ends of the line to be measured, and the two operators 
could talk with headphones to each other.  Does anyone have experience with 
these, using them for microwave experiments or communications?
