I looked at the block diagram you provide with interest. This
appears similar in some parts to a wide-band IF that I worked on last
year. I used MAR-6 IF Amplifier stages and the AD8307 as
log-amplifier/detector and fed this to a MAX-186 ADC to provide a
digital input to my computer where the data was graphed using
SkyPipe. My prime use was a total-power IF for radio astronomy but
it could also find use for antenna noise-temp analysis.
