I note with interest that because the RSGB did not have the sense to
specifically state that deep search mode must not be used, that we are again
dependant on interpretation. SO... Again we are tied up because no simple
declaritive sentence has said "use of the deep search mode of WSJT is
prohibited."

And for the record, either mode is fine with me, as long as restrictions are
clearly defined.

Hello Fletch

The RSGB Contest Committee, particularly at VHF, do not promote EME contests, AFAIAA.
Furthermore, EME QSOs do not count for points in any RSGB VHF/UHF contest I have ever entered (and there have been a few!)
Consequently, the DSD mode of WSJT is irrelevant in this context.

Might I also point out that the recent rule change is also largely irrelevant to major contest groups and will only affect - to the
detriment - those DX'ers of modest means or poor location who have, in the past, been able to use the DX Cluster (originally a
radio-based communication system) and lately ON4KST-chat as a means of attracting the attention of other stations to the betterment
of their enjoyment of the wall of QRM that Europe becomes during a major VHF/UHF weekend.

All the best - it is quiet on the moon, so I believe.

(Listen for us around 00:01Z on Sat/Sun 5/6 May on 432 - I'll make sure that the 8x21 are pointing about 150 AZ. SSB for sure!)
