 Hi Al and All, It is a lot of years but not quite that many, My first 1296 eme QSO was with W2NFA, ( the W2IMU, crawford hill guys) on April 13th 1968 and then in September 1968 with WB6IOM. Its still a lot of fun  and im looking forward to the expedition.

  Correction.The first 1296 MHz EME contact from KH6 was when KH6UK operated by W2UK worked W1BU which happened shortly after W1BU and W6HB made the first 1296 MHz EME QSO in 1960. And shortly after other notables made 1296 MHz EME QSOs including G3LTF who by the way is still on 1296 MHz EME! That's a lot of years Peter! Congrats!
