2nd Italian EME Contest by ARI, May 12-13th 2007

Last years experience has shown us the difficulty of separating non-assisted (random) from assisted operation, in some borderline cases. DUBUS is going the way of all non-assisted. ARRL is admitting both but with big limitations in the assistance admitted.

For the 2nd edition of our digital contest we will go a third way: admitting assistance in the form of self-spotting, which is one of the customary practises of the digital world, next year's outcome will pilot our choices for the 3rd edition.

Big stations do not need it, they are beacons that can be found by sight or ear easily, but medium and small stations would be handicapped without this means, and they are the majority. For the same reason, between the possible dates we have chosen one near perigee for minimum degradation, sacrificing declination.

We mantain our traditional subdivision by antenna dimension and power so each can compete equally to the best of his capacity.

We hope that no unethic practises will arise and that everybody will follow the spirit of the rules and of the honour system.

Control logs from those not competing will be particularly appreciated for cross checking and will be mentioned in the results.

Enclosed are the rules for 2007.
