Heinz,

>From what I have read, LINRAD works quite well with SDR's such as SDR1000 and
SDR-14. The latter is a 0.5-30 MHz receiver so would fit your requirements.
RFSpace has just announced a new SDR Rx the SDR-IQ. I have placed a reserve
order for one and will have to come up with a 144/28 MHz convertor. I am
looking at the DEMI xvtrs designed for use with the Elecraft E2 and SDR-1000.
I will continue to use my FT-847 as Tx in this combination. The SDR-IQ is
capable of 190 KHz bandwidth display which would easilty cover the 144-eme
bands (144.010-144.200). It uses a 14-bit A/D thru an USB I/F and doesnot
require a soundcard.

Here is the announcement:
>>>RFSPACE will soon release the little brother of the SDR-14 receiver. This
receiver covers the frequency range of 500 Hz to 30 MHz in 1 Hz steps. It
can also be used for higher frequencies using downconverters. The maximum
realtime BW of this unit will be 190 KHz. We also plan on having a pulsar
mode with both internal and external triggers. We are also working on a
sonar module, ultrasound module and IR module. In order to make the unit
affordable to the experimenter, we will offer the unit as a board level
assembly ready to plug and play. The powering is by the USB port so no power
supply is required. The unit measures 3.75x3.75 inches. You can read more
about this unit here:
http://www.rfspace.com/sdriq.html
There is currently a promotion for the first 100 board level units.
Regards,
Pieter<<<
