Hi Lance and all,
I would just use a T-connector. A modest increase
of SWR would probably not have any adverse effect.
Only if you have a carefully designed system that
has the lowest possible gain to keep the noise floor
at the optimum level without any attenuator, the
additional loss of not power matching would be
something to worry about.
Connect one receiver to the T-connector and check
the level of a stable signal (or the noise floor.)
Then connect the second receiver. If you can accept
the amount by which the signal drops, you are
probably ok.
The IM3 characteristics of your 28MHz converter
output might even improve compared to the IM3
it would have if you used an attenuator to reduce
gain by the same amount. IM3 could also degrade
but you will notice if it is a problem.....
