[Moon-net] WSJT 5.9.5

Hello Joe

thank you for your prompt response, 3 questions remaining for now:

a. From your answers provided on DS (seen below) it would be interesting to
know the sampling methodology, error variance in the statistical
distribution, the confidence intervals applied, more on characterization
procedure with respect to correlations values, and the measurement process.
Thus, a statistical description of DS works with sample size n=4800.

''The statistical distribution of correlations obtained in the Deep Search
is measured more accurately. In particular, the measurement now tracks
changes that depend on MyCall and on the properties of each received signal.
Improved characterization of the statistical distribution of DS correlation
values, as mentioned in item #3 of my answer to question 1. ''

b. I understand that if DS is turned off, it is off even if the sked
function is enabled. So at levels where KV decoder does not succeed (even
after some time) but there is a callsign in ''my call'' box (with or without
calls3.txt deleted), we will still have no decode. Correct?

c. Is there a chance in the future for those skeptical future users (due to
DS significantly reduced information content vs long established QSO
requirements) to see a version of JT65 where DS will not be part of the
programm at all? Reason i ask is because even if someone wanted to be qrv in
JT65 random and turned DS off (which is indeed a good development in version
4.9.5), it is part of the programm for the other end who might still use it.
Maybe this question sounds naive, nevertheless to me is quite important.

It is always interesting to learn and read about recent developments and
progress, like for example that the two end-of-line numbers (formerly
displayed only if Aggressive was checked) are now always displayed in JT65
mode (so that operator using DS knows at all times more about this
non-trivial info), as well as all the answers you kindly provided.

Thank you & 73,
Jimmy SV1BTR
