I don't own one, but believe there is a fairly common problem on them 
which if I recall is similar to what you have. There is a yahoo groups 
mailing list (newsgroup or whatever) devoted to Agilent equipment. A lot 
of HP related people hang out there. Personally I'm not over keen on 
Yahoo groups, but it might be one way of getting information.
